I’m curious about the process of a pimple developing. What are the stages of a pimple?

A pimple typically goes through several stages of development:
1. Formation: A pore gets clogged with excess oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria.
2. Comedone: This is the initial stage where the pore gets blocked and forms a whitehead (closed comedone) or a blackhead (open comedone).
3. Papule: If the clogged pore becomes inflamed, it can result in a papule, which is a small, red bump caused by inflammation.
4. Pustule: As the inflammation increases, a pustule may develop, characterized by a white or yellow center surrounded by red, inflamed skin.
5. Nodule or Cyst: Severe cases can lead to the development of nodules or cysts, deeper and more painful lumps beneath the skin’s surface.
Each of these stages represents the progression of a pimple, with proper skincare and treatment potentially preventing or minimizing their occurrence.
